REPAIR & PARTS WARRANTY
Mitchell Motorworks stands behind the quality of our repairs and workmanship. Warranty coverage may vary depending on the repair, part, manufacturer, or supplier involved. This policy explains Mitchell Motorworks' workmanship and parts warranty, how longer manufacturer or supplier warranties are handled, and the procedures for requesting warranty service.
MITCHELL MOTORWORKS WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY
Unless otherwise stated on the repair order or invoice, workmanship performed by Mitchell Motorworks is warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first, beginning from the date and mileage shown on the completed repair order.
This warranty applies to defects resulting from the workmanship performed by Mitchell Motorworks. If a covered workmanship concern occurs during the warranty period, the vehicle must be returned to Mitchell Motorworks and we must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and correct the concern.
Mitchell Motorworks' workmanship warranty does not automatically extend when a part carries a manufacturer, supplier, or distributor warranty longer than 12 months or 12,000 miles.
STANDARD PARTS WARRANTY
Unless otherwise stated on the repair order or invoice, parts supplied and installed by Mitchell Motorworks are warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
Certain parts may carry longer coverage from the manufacturer, supplier, or distributor. When Mitchell Motorworks represents a longer parts warranty to the customer, that coverage is subject to the terms, limitations, exclusions, and claim procedures of the applicable warranty provider.
A longer manufacturer or supplier warranty on a part does not automatically extend Mitchell Motorworks' workmanship or labor warranty.
MANUFACTURER & SUPPLIER WARRANTIES
Certain parts and components may include warranty coverage provided by the manufacturer, supplier, or distributor that extends beyond Mitchell Motorworks' standard 12-month/12,000-mile warranty.
Any extended coverage is provided by the applicable warranty provider and is subject to that provider's terms, limitations, exclusions, claim requirements, and available remedies. Mitchell Motorworks does not independently extend or guarantee third-party warranty coverage beyond the terms specifically represented on the repair order or invoice.
A manufacturer or supplier warranty covering a replacement part does not automatically include diagnostic testing, labor, removal or installation, programming, fluids, towing, shipping, taxes, shop supplies, or other costs associated with a warranty claim unless those items are specifically covered and paid by the applicable warranty provider.
Mitchell Motorworks will assist with applicable parts-warranty claims when reasonably possible, but approval and coverage remain subject to the warranty provider.
WARRANTY DIAGNOSIS & LABOR
A reported warranty concern must be inspected and verified before warranty coverage can be determined. Diagnostic testing, inspection, disassembly, charging, testing, or other procedures may be required to identify the cause of the concern and determine whether it qualifies for warranty coverage.
If a concern is confirmed to be covered by Mitchell Motorworks' 12-month/12,000-mile workmanship or standard parts warranty, reasonable diagnostic and labor charges directly related to correcting the covered failure will be included as part of the warranty repair.
If the concern is not covered, is caused by an unrelated condition, or cannot be duplicated or verified, the customer is responsible for applicable diagnostic and testing charges.
After Mitchell Motorworks' 12-month/12,000-mile workmanship warranty has expired, labor and diagnostic services associated with a longer manufacturer or supplier parts warranty are billable to the customer unless those charges are specifically covered and paid by the warranty provider.
WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS
Warranty coverage applies only to the repair, workmanship, or component specifically covered and does not extend to unrelated failures or conditions.
Warranty coverage does not apply to failures or damage resulting from abuse, misuse, accidents, collision, overheating, fluid loss, contamination, lack of required maintenance, continued operation after a warning or failure occurs, racing or competition use, improper repairs performed by others, or other conditions unrelated to the original repair.
Normal wear, deterioration, and maintenance items are not covered for ordinary wear or consumption unless specifically provided by an applicable parts warranty.
Modifications, aftermarket components, or changes made after the original repair do not automatically void warranty coverage; however, failures caused or contributed to by those modifications or components are not covered.
Warranty coverage may also be affected when required maintenance, break-in procedures, inspections, fluid changes, or other requirements specified by a component manufacturer or warranty provider are not completed or documented as required.
REQUESTING WARRANTY SERVICE
If you believe a previous Mitchell Motorworks repair may have a warranty concern, contact us as soon as reasonably possible and provide Mitchell Motorworks an opportunity to inspect the vehicle before repairs are performed elsewhere.
Warranty coverage must be verified before warranty repairs are performed. Customers should not authorize another repair facility or individual to repair or replace a potentially covered component without first contacting Mitchell Motorworks.
Repairs, replacement parts, towing, rental vehicles, or other expenses incurred elsewhere without prior authorization from Mitchell Motorworks are not eligible for reimbursement unless otherwise required by law or specifically approved in advance.
If the vehicle cannot reasonably be returned to Mitchell Motorworks, contact us before authorizing repairs elsewhere so we can review the circumstances and determine what options may be available under the applicable warranty.
Customers are responsible for taking reasonable steps to prevent additional damage. If a vehicle develops a warning light, abnormal noise, overheating condition, fluid loss, or other indication of a potentially serious problem, continued operation that causes additional damage may affect warranty coverage.
